in indianapolis with college summit
This last summer I posted some photos I took while volunteering as a writing coach with College Summit, a non-profit organization that helps low-income kids get to college. In that post, you saw a few of the students with whom I worked closely over the course of four days to write heartfelt personal essays. College Summit flew me to Indianapolis a few weeks ago to capture more of the same spirit. In this post, you’ll see many more students - all headed toward college - in two high schools in Indianapolis. The day was a great one, and College Summit still rocks everybody’s socks off. Volunteering during their summer workshops is an incredible experience; you’ve got to do it at least once in your life!

Oh, those beautiful faces! You really caught their dignity, their boldness, their hope. I love these. It was so good to see you at the Summit. Hope we’ll talk again soon.
Much love -
Julie

It so nice to see all the college summit peer leaders. I am really proud to be a member of such a amazing family such as college summit. Being part of a team has never made me so happy.
