laura and al’s wedding

Posted in event on August 17th, 2009 by Julie Furbush – 4 Comments

This was my first wedding as a photographer. It was the perfect first wedding to shoot. Chill bride and groom - two people who appreciated the art present in their special day and wanted to see it in their photos - wild flowers, a multitude of small girls in summer dresses floating around, a dress rehearsal dinner with great pizza, great light, everything. This day trumped my old record for shots taken in one day by 300%. 4300 photos, Whooo! And these are some of the photos that I fell in love with as I was editing through.

writing coaching with college summit

Posted in event, portraits on August 17th, 2009 by Julie Furbush – 4 Comments

There are these things called College Summit workshops happening all over the country every summer, giving about forty five rising high school seniors rare attention for four days, attention focused on another rare thing in these kids’ lives: college. A very opening, humbling, frustrating, tough, beautiful experience for both the students and the volunteers. I would recommend learning more: www.collegesummit.org. College Summit flew me to Indianapolis six months later to shoot some more - check out the second post.
